Title: jESSE RUST & CO OF LAMBETH AND BATTERSEA
Post by: INOLEUKOTHEA on August 13, 2017, 10:59:57 AM
I am researching the history of this well known firm of glass and vitreous mosaic manufacturers in London. (c.1860-1930) I can find no reference to them under London glassworks. They supplied unique glass for stained glass windows in churches (St Catherine Hoarwithy) and cathedrals and later sold a patented glass mosaic that can still be seen in prestigious sites in London, eg the V&A museum, and the UK. Rust glass was known to major architects and designers of the 19th century.

Has anyone any information on Rust's methods of production of his unique streaky glass?

Hi Inoleukothea, welcome to the Board.

I have removed your duplicate post in the Glass forum as it can get confusing if replies are added to more than one source thread. Since the subject is about a known British glass works, I have left this thread in the British & Irish forum.

Hopefully somebody will respond soon but it could easily take a while.
