I believe this to be a genuine dump with three internal "flowers".
Can someone more expert tell if it is likely to be genuine and an approximate era of manufacture.

Hi, I'm no expert on these but I do know that one's with one or more flowers in pot like yours are more valuable than say ones with bubbles - blue dumps are the rarest. The base looks right but it's hard to tell if there is a lot of wear or not by the picture provided , obviously these were used and abused so there should be a lot of wear / knocks for it to be Victorian.

The top right of the base is a largish "flake" chip and there is plenty of wear Adam.

I have moved this to the Paperweights forum as that will gather more responses than in the general Glass forum.
I will check a couple of books soon (unless somebody else does it before me) for some info. However, I have no reason to think this one is other than late 19th / early 20th century.

I have never come acros a 'fake' dump - but there are some mid-late 20th century pieces made by Hartley Wood in the North East of England, and some rather thin, paler blue green pieces of unknown origin that appeared in the 1990s. This one looks like a typical, simple Victorian / Edwardian piece, made anywhere from the 1860s to the 1910s. You can find some with several tiers of delicate flowers, as well as ones with foil petals, and others with coloured centres to the flowers and 'Kilner' stamps to the base. The latter are quite rare - and expensive!

Thank you Alan. I was happy for a cost < 10 pounds, 12,000 miles from home.
