Probably a good chance ( no pun intended ) the background colour is pretty much the same as some other Chance plates I have ;D 8.5 inches long.

Nice find, Keith, well done.

Did Chance have a contract with the zoo ? and did they ever do 'Flags of the World' ? ;D ;D ;D
-
Oh! I've never seen either of those before, Keith.

Think the giraffe has a good 'chance' ::) shall have to see what David says ;D

Giraffe, I'm sure about. The flag maybe.
Chance offered a custom service where trays could be ordered with a minimum quantity of 250, so tourist companies would frequently order batches of trays like this. The problem with a firm attribution is that other companies did the same: Webb and Duro-Ray are two examples and the trays they manufactured are almost identical to ones by Chance.
Although a minimum of 250 examples may exist in the whole world of any tray, making them 'rare', it doesn't always mean they are collectable, particularly the ones with just a single-colour printed. Stuart and I have compiled a number of these advertising trays on ChanceGlassware.uk (https://www.chanceglassware.uk/promotional-ware), which is a new website I started. There are dozens on there - don't forget to click the 'Show More' link at the bottom of each page. On this site, there are a number of the more collectable ones, like Walpamur Paints, Apex Holloware (bit saucy this one) and E J & J Pearson, to name a few.
Also see this page (https://www.chanceglassware.uk/other-promo) for trays that are less likely to be Chance.
