Title: Caithness? Moss Green Lantern Vase. ID = Caithness
Post by: Della on September 03, 2017, 10:13:33 AM
Hi all,
This vase is quite heavy and my first thoughts were Scandinavian.
I have since been informed that it is likely to be Caithness, though the person who told me said they had only seen it in Neodymium.
It is is 165mm in height and weighs 655g.
Could anyone possibly help?
TIA
Della

According to p 30 of the Caithness book, it's a Lantern vase from the '80s, designed by Colin Terris c '82 from the Glenisla range 6.52 tall.
This shape  was also used in the Cadenza and Art Nuoveau series.
The illustration is of an Amethyst one, the base looks awfully deep purple for it to be neodynium.
But just bacause only that colour is illustrated does not mean it wasn't made in other colours.
The moss green looks absolutely right to me, and i have seen these vases around in different colours anyway. I see a fair bit of Caithness. ;D

Indeed.
Even when it moved, it just moved around me. ;D
