Title: A further lamp from my collection needing ID
Post by: marcus on September 19, 2017, 07:47:19 PM
This piece is also an Art Deco period piece. My only 'guess' has leant towards Riedel (perhaps?)
I only say this due to my other known Riedel examples, and as I often compare the glass itself when stuck for a manufacturer, It can be said that this piece displays the same/similar qualities... Any help would be gratefully received. She stands 10 inches high without the base. I have added the fish lamp by Etling to provide size & scale.

That's a lovely design. I appreciate that you've compared it with the other lamp for scale, but could you please add proper dimensions as well?  We can see the size difference, but catalogues often give actual sizes, so it's useful to have them to check.  Welcome to the board too. :)

Thank you for your response & friendly welcome Anne... It is a nice piece indeed. The Etling fish is 5 inches in height, however the Lady figurine (I call her "Footsteps" for want of a name!) is 10 inches high (without the lamp base) and 7 1/2 inches wide at the widest point. The rectangular base of the glass is 6 1/4 x 2 1/4 and is hollow up to the bottom of her dress. The rear of the glass is also beautifully moulded, but without facial features. I can add more pics if needed. Unfortunately I don't have period catalogues and have to rely upon those that I can source online, but without a name of the maker (or a pic/attribution of another example) my search could go on forever!!! LOL  I'm of the mind that it's by Reidel, but a guess is only a guess, and is based purely upon other examples of lady figurines by them within my collection which I know to be Reidel pieces.
