Title: Water grenade? Money bank? Fishing float?

Any ideas what this strange thing is please?
Its not like any water grenades that I've so far searched, but it could have had some sort of attachment on the top.  I thought at first it might be a money bank because, based on early ones which had to be broken to get the money out but not a good idea if its glass.
It seems to have been made in a similar way to fishing floats.  There's a seam line just visible in the pics.

Given the coin shaped slot, I would suspect a money bank.
You didn't have to break them to get your savings out.
Getting the coins out was a matter of a butter knife and a lot of patience, trying to balance the coins one by one on the flat surface of the knife and lifting them carefully out the slot.  :)
