Title: Large Early Button Top Blue Globe for Show
Post by: Vitreo94 on October 10, 2017, 06:30:27 PM
A recent purchase for show. A nice deep blue globe with a 'proper' button top and polished pontil base.

Does anyone know if the more buttony topped pieces were a trait of Michael's work? It looks well made enough to be one of his! It dates between 69-72 but does anyone have a more sepcific date that this or ones like it were made?

Cheers,

Will

More a characteristic of the earlier production I would say, whoever made it there.

Looks like the same sort of dusky blue as these two.

The second globe vase has a more pronounced neck and rim, getting a bit later in date probably.

Don't you have a clear yellow one with a no-neck button rim, the same as the blue one, John? ;)
