Title: Ground stopper or miniature
Post by: fatbelly on October 15, 2017, 10:47:36 AM
Hello Board
Purchased this piece with a Chinese white and just presumed it was a ground down stopper of no value but on arrival and inspection there is no ground mark it smooth finished with a lot of ware to the base edge that touches the surface. Is it just a piece that wasn’t made in to a stopper or a miniature example.Measures 2” d and .75” h
Also would it be a Richardson’s piece or similar
Appreciation and thanks in advance

Hi.  It is indeed Old English, but rather than being by Richardson I think it is an Arculus or Walsh Walsh piece: it looks like one of the smaller 'low dome' Arculus pieces.
