Cute little pickup from op shopping today... very fine glass looks like a seashell. Any direction for the artist?

That'd be Mike McGregor of Whangarei, New Zealand. Dip Glass Northland 1990, worked in Whangarei and Auckland 1990s, But his career came to a sudden halt in the early 2000s.
