Title: Murano Sommerso Vase
Post by: Feline on December 05, 2017, 01:36:26 PM
Dear All,

I would like to double check with you, if you have any idea on whom could have made this Murano vase below. I saw it in a commercial studio however I could not check the signature.
It is clearly a sommerso type however, there are multiple Maestros using this technique... Any suggestion?

Thanks :)

This has, in my eyes, the key signs of Chinese copy. Of course this my opinion! and cannot be regarded as 'fact' without more detail, but the image provided is 'extremely suspicious'.
Sorry it's bad news.

The wobbly lines of the sommerso and the colours indicate Chinese to me

Hi Jay,

Thank you for your reply.
I am sorry to hear that in your opinion it is a bad replica. Out of curiosity, could you perhaps tell me which are the elements that are driving to this conclusion. This would be useful for the future and avoid traps.
