Hello!
Could you help me identifying this pressed glass vase? I bought it some time ago in Czech Republic but couldn't find for it any designer or even glass works.

Hi and welcome ;)
It looks very similar to vases made by Rosice with its "pineapple" pattern, but I could be wrong.
Someone will confirm either way I'm sure.

I've been through Mark Hill and Marcus Newall's books - and most of Pamela's vases .............. wasn't aware of seeing this pattern though, Anne.
Not sure which of the Rosice vases you mean by 'pineapple' - do you have the CD catalogue that accompanies the book?
I saw so many vases that I might have missed it. :)

Markus later emailed me with a precise attribution, but I'm sorry to say that I can't remember it off the top of my head... I'll have a dig and see if I can find it.

It looked rather like vases shown in Marcus' CD catalogue for Rosice Glassexport (1958, 1987, 1992) pattern 986 (20/25/30cm). However these have a scalloped rim. And on closer look, the textured pattern on Pitu's vase extends higher up the vase than on the Rosice ones, so I'm probably way off.
I couldn't think of a better way of describing the textured pattern ::)

quote ................ "I couldn't think of a better way of describing the textured pattern ::)" no matter Anne - I guess you were just being 'fruity'. ;D
Good job we have Steven to help us - fingers crossed he will find the attribution.

There's one of these on eBay at the moment (search for Sklo/vase) where it's attributed to Rosice/Jiri Zejmon.
However it appears in The Czechoslovak Glass Review (1963, Part 7) as belonging to Libochovice with the 'author' being Rudolf Jurnikl. I'm not sure what 'author' means in this context.

Probably just a bad translation of designer
