Title: Is This Vaseline Glass?
Post by: Gibsonsy21 on February 28, 2018, 09:22:08 AM
Good morning,, this is my first post and I am asking for help in identifying the type and age of a vase recently acquired in a local auction.
I believe it to be Victorian Vaseline glass. It has flowers applied to the main body of the vase. Although it has the typical Vaseline glass colour I have not seen anything with the "stripe" effect. Your comments would be appreciated, thank you.

Welcome to the board. Your picture is very tiny (you have up to 125 kb per picture and the board creates the thumbnail), so it doesn't blow up. This is a piece of Bohemian glass, probably Harrach. A better term is uranium glass but it is only uranium glass if it glows a very bright green under a UV light. Otherwise it is just opalescent.
