Title: Small square rimmed bubble glass inkwell Scottish? Monart? help please.
Post by: brucebanner on March 31, 2018, 08:02:18 PM
No idea on this one, it looks like it's made out of recycled glass as the outer casing is a bit blue and it's full of bits, it measures just over 3 inches in diameter with heavy base wear and a rough pontil.

Any thought's welcome regards Chris.

Hi Chris - an ongoing mystery with similar examples but different colours discussed here https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,56464.0/topicseen.html (https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,56464.0/topicseen.html)  Alastair

I'd rule Monart out, but can't help more than that. :)

Thanks for the reply, I have read the link and was surprised to see so many some worn others not, no way are they some sort of caster they would just shatter or slip on stone floors, I liked the idea of being used with a sponge in the middle for stamps and maybe counting money, sorting through paperwork,  the wear on mine would fit and I remember something very similar behind the reception desk at one of the hospitals I visit but plastic with a sponge in the middle also circular.
