Title: Who made this colorful paperweight?
Post by: Alexandraowen on April 12, 2018, 05:39:08 PM
Hello. Who made this faceted paperweight with pears? My only guess is that because of the colors and chalky sort of look to the design, it was made in China.

If not China, what country, studio, or artist if it's germane? When might it have been made? I'm happy to report it's in very good condition, not a chip or scratch on it.

It's miniature in size, measuring about 1 and 3/4 inches across and 1 and 1/2 inches high at the tip of the top facet point. Smooth base. Very clear glass. Not greenish.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Nice weight.
My vote is antique Saint-Louis.

The lampwork looks like antique French, probably Saint-Louis...but the facetting suggests it has been drastically cut and chopped to remove damaged.  So it is not 'original', and thus significantly reduced in value...but an interesting piece.
