Title: Can anyone id this black cased vase - possibly Murano?

Hi All.  Hope someone can help.  I found this piece of blacked cased glass i the North West of England.  Large controlled bubbles with many small bubbles as well.  The base is flat and polished.  Measures 10 cms tall by 9.5 cm in diameter at the widest point and weighs a massive 1.3 kgs.  Any help would be much appreciated.
