Title: Cased Glass Vase ID
Post by: The Glass Staircase on April 25, 2018, 06:51:39 PM
Hi All,

I bought a spiral moulded cased lead glass vase with amethyst trail the other day in a charity shop as it looked rather promising but I've not been able to find a possible maker yet.
It has a ground out and polished concave pontil on base with lots of bubbles and dirt inside the glass and metal is rather grey-ish.

It measures 11 inches high and 5 inches diameter.

As always any input greatly appreciated!

Stevens & Williams/ Royal Brierley maybe? Hopefully Keith will be along to say whether or not mys suspicions are correct...

Hi, I was thinking S&W too but couldn't find anything with spiral moulding. Thanks for your reply :)

Must admit I did think of S&W's rainbow vases but I've never seen one like this before in any books, fairs or the archives, sorry  ???

That's what I thought too but I couldn't see anything similar so I guess it will have to be filed beside my ever growing 'maker unknown' cache. Thanks for your input nonetheless :)
