??? Help! I cannot seem to find the identity of this paperweight. Made in Scotland Label Attached. Any help would be so much appreciated!

:) Welcome.

Hi Sue,
Are you sure this is a SBAG weight? I must admit I do not recognise the label but the canes and the general look of the weight do not look like Peter Holmes' work to me.
If I had to give an ID I would have gone John Deacons or William Manson, but I may be wrong of course.

It's got the SBAG logo, plonk, right in the middle of the label. ;)
I can recognise the logo. ;D
I'm afraid most paperweights look pretty much the same to me, unless they've got some unusual lampwork inside.
I prefer to leave who made it, up to folk like yourself who do know how to distinguish the weight by looking at the glass itself. That is the best way. 8)
I went by the logo in the middle of the label, only. :-[
Did they not all end up sharing studio space at some point in time?
I know John Deacons allowed Franco Toffolo to use his studio on Thursdays after he (FT) retired, for a while and that at one point in time Willie Manson had to resort to driving a taxi to make a living.
What a waste of such a great artist's time!

I'g go with Deacons.

I had not added a comment for this one - and I kept forgetting to do so.
I think the Op (gcnscr) should use the link Sue provided for the Scottish Borders Art Glass site and ask about both the label and the weight.
I do not know which company made this weight and I do not recognise the canes. However, Perthshire Paperweights certainly made a 6-row concentric millefiori in the PP4 range for the years 1993/4. And the setting of the canes is of the precision that I tend to associate with Perthsihre Paperweights - and that is not the same as saying that I think other makers did not make top quality items. A point that gioes against the PP4 idea is that those weights from 93/4 were not faceted.

I will defiantly email the link. Thank you so much for the information everyone.

Hi. This paperweight looks to me like a John Deacons piece from the J Glass era - the canes are very similar to the signed piece below.

Thanks Allan. I emailed The Link as suggested above but have not heard anything. I appreciate your help.
