Title: Kings Lynn / Wedgwood Apollo paperweight? - RSW11 ?
Post by: Sheilaglass on June 01, 2018, 10:01:08 AM
Hi
Please can anyone help identify this  clear glass paperweight with bubbles?  I thought it was King's Lynn/Wedgwood. I have the Tobin Wedgwood book, and there appear to be 2 clear examples of Galaxy - RSW 2 or 3? - but mine is a slender shape, not at all rounded like the examples shown. Please see attached photo.(http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php???)
The alternative would appear to be the Apollo range, of which I only found a mention in the 'DK 20thC Roadshow Collectibles Price Guide' 2005' book on P119, but these don't seem right either.
The paperweight is unmarked, with a shiny flat base.
Many thanks from a new member
Sheila

Welcome to the message board Sheila.

Looks ok for Wedgwood, see 4th row down here:

Sometimes the etched marks are very faint.

Hi John

Thanks so much for your reply and the link. There is no mark, however faint, but one of the paperweights like it in the picture link you sent me had a 'Lynn Glass' label, and on the website you linked me to, it said that early items had these labels only, rather than a mark, but they often got lost, so that explains that.

Many thanks again!
Best wishes

Sheila
