Title: Glass label Identification on Apothecary
Post by: Shetana06 on June 05, 2018, 05:36:14 AM
Hi, I was needing some help identifying the label on this apothecary. The apothecary is a dark olive green, optic ribbed, with a clear twist stem. Possibly Empoli?? It has a partial circular yellow/gold and silver foil label with a mountain (silver snowcap) at top of mountain. If anyone can help me I would much appreciate it.

hello!
I have seen a very very similar mark on Japanese porcelain.
It looks like Fuji mountain with stream of Fukagawa porcelain company.
Other Japanese companies often use Mt. Fuji as their logo.
I am not saying it is Japanese but reminded me of something I've seen.
I do not think Fukagawa porcelain company produced glass, so it should be else.
Take a look at their mark!

Great. Thanks so much for the information. I believe that you are probably right. The thought had crossed my mind that it could possibly be Japanese as well, because though the body looks much like similar Empoli pieces I have seen, the finial on the lid just didn't look like any Empoli piece I have seen. I have seen a few Japanese glass pieces in the past that were similar to Murano and Empoli pieces, though typically there are subtle differences in the quality. This label was just something I haven't came across, and I had been driving myself crazy trying to identify the label... LOL.. So I am most appreciative for your input. ;)
