Title: Signed - beautiful green vase. ID = Mdina
Post by: Beege on June 25, 2018, 04:18:49 PM
Hallo all.
This vase has wonderful colours and is approx 5" tall by 5" wide. It is signed on the bottom but I am unable to read what it says. Can any of you recognise this signature (I've made it black and white to make it more visible)?
Thank you

Thank you SveziaJonas, that was super fast!
I've looked at other Mdina vases and I can immediately see the similarities.
Many thanks.

Thank you Christine.
Do you suspect the 1970's because it is catalogued or because you are familiar with the design?

The shape appears in a 1970s Dexam catalogue where it is described as a striped bottle

It is Ming. Ming can be striped or in random ribbons. With that slightly wide, flared flange, this would have been made after the Boffos arrived, but the rounded and short shape of the body makes it pretty early. :)
