Hi does anyone know the maker please. Clear cased but very thinly, folded rim, polished pontil.6.5" high 7.5 diameter.

From the wear it's appears to have some age,I wonder if it's a spittoon?

Lovely piece of glass that!
Certainly look's from the middle up like a spittoon i once owned but but mine was lower with a wider base.
Maybe this was designed for people who do not have a great shot? ;D
Looks Ruby or cranberry? I guess if it were red and regency period would be quite a rare item.

Wow I've seen a few on the internet and it now makes perfect sense, but I just presumed it was a vase. It's ruby in colour, if you hold it up to the light there are quite a few tiny clear dots that look like bubbles.
