Hi All,
Would welcome any thoughts on this oval pressed black glass vase with detailed moulding and stippled background.
Measures 12cm tall and 12cm in diameter.
Cut and polished rim.
Many thanks,
Greg

The 1840 Launay Hautin catalogue has a similar 'Jasmin vase' although less decorated but part of the design on your vase can be found back. It is known that IVIMA, amongst others, reproduced these pieces, but it's important to point out that the bottom does correspond.
You can compare it yourself and let us know what you think, page 56, second model, nr 1930 for St Louis.

Hi Anne,
Thank you very much indeed. Whilst the decoration is not exact it is very close. I'm certain this example is early, sadly this one has some damage, although it's still a survivor!
It's great to see other similar examples in the catalogue, the definition on these pieces is quite impressive.
St Louis would have been way down on my list of possible candidates! Thank you Anne .
