Title: MDG, Did they use purple & white glass?
Post by: Della on August 30, 2018, 02:28:14 PM
The question is in the title really.
I have a very Maltese looking vase, purple with white splodges. It isn't signed.
The base has the very fine grinding lines, the same as my other MDG vase.
I've searched on here, but can't find any reference to purple glass.
More than happy to post a photo if needed.
TIA,
Della

More likely to be Mtarfa from ths sound of it, Della. They definitely did do a purple and white splodgy range, but I've not encountered purple at MDG, not in any of the Mdina-like art glass things they did. It may well appear in pwts or the other things more influenced by the Chinese input.

;D Exactly what I expected to see, thank-you!
Including all the curves. Mtarfa. Early Mtarfa.
