Do we know anything about when the goblet design came into fashion as the 'correct' shape for use when drinking brandy?

Hello,

It's debatable what the right shape for brandy is. Apparently the shape, as we know it, releases the aroma too fast.

I couldn't find anything on the exact date but you might find this article interesting, originally written in french with an English option.

It sounds like good sense.
Thankyou for troubling to look into it.

The term Brandy Balloon was used infrequently in the 1800's it took off in the early 1900's. In the 1800's Pony Brandy glasses and Brandy Pipes were used and in the 1800's the Term Brandy Snifter was more common.
