I have a feeling this is Schott Zweisel however i just wanted to ask the question as it is not a common color pattern they use it could also be the Romanian unknown company maybe, Polished pontil mark to the base is well done and the piece feels good quality. I just cant find reference although i am sure i have seen it here before???? Reminds me of marble stone the colors. Thank you for looking at it.

I'm having trouble seeing the bubbles inside it.
I've looked at my Unknown Romanian maker pieces, and they all have flat, roughly ground bases, none have the circular polished out pontil mark.
The very shiney iridesence is right for this maker too, but I suspect the bubbles are not.
The bubbles in the Romanian work are like Nazeing bubbles- they have a halo of deeper/more opaque colour around them.
They also tend to be heavily bubbled at the bottom, but less so at the top. And there can be bits of black stuff in the bubbles - unlike the clear bubbles of Schott.

All in all, I think you can rule out the Unknown Romanian maker.
Unless the bubbles have haloes!

Do you happen to have a side-on shot of the vase, so that we can see the overall shape more clearly?  :)

In terms of shape and finish, the upper portion reminds me of my Schott/Löffelhardt 'Florida' vase, but I haven't seen this sort of granite effect before. It's very interesting.

Be right back better pictures it is similar to the Florida shape's but not a technique i have seen used by this company before, I kinda hoped it may have been a pulegosa type of technique or similar but really not easy to know... ???

This looks even more interesting now. I hadn't noticed the green vertical streaks at regular intervals, or the elongated bubbles. I'm stumped now though.  ???

:o me too hahaha have been for three day's :) Really appreciate you looking and your comments are great, I cant even find the words to describe whats going on with this vase a real odd ball, Might be something tried as a prototype as its quite well made but not superb so much going on inside it very strange piece. This is why i love collecting and learning about glass though its a minefield sometimes.

I think that about sums up the allure of glass for many of us. It's beguiling and often baffling.  ;D

I've not seen air-trap bubbles (the elongated ones) in the Unknown Romanian glass before either. I really don't think it's them. But it's a bit like them.  ??? ::) ;D
The mottled colour is very different to their output too.

Hi Legsy

While googling glass, by chance I stumbled upon some images of Karl Wiedmann's mid-century designs for Gral Glashütte. They have the dense, mottled polychrome effects of your vase, combined with coloured elongated bubbles. You mention Gral in the title of your post, and I wondered whether it might be worth doing an extensive image search for Wiedmann's designs? A lot of the images I've described were tagged 'Unikat', which implies each was a one-off, albeit a combination of the same ideas and elements.

Just a thought, but I hope it leads somewhere.  ;D
