I just love this coaster :D I have no idea who made it, but it is likely French since I bought from a vendor in France. It is 12 cm in diameter and about 2 cm high. Can anyone help pin it down to a maker? Thanks.

Hi,
You should find a mark Vernox on the edge, sub brand of Sabino if I'm not mistaken. Look in french for 'sous bouteille verre opalescent Vernox' and you should come across several examples.

Thank you. The coaster is not signed along the edge, well, none that I noticed.

You probably already have seen this, but it shows where the signature should be found.

I can't remember just now what happened to the moulds, whether they ended up at C-l-R as well but perhaps somebody else remembers it, otherwise I'll have a look and see what I can find.

The moulds were probably retained by the American owners of Sabino. This pattern has been pressed post war under the Sabino name (rather than Vernox): certainly the bowls in this berry pattern are shown in the current catalogue. The coasters no longer seem to be listed though: http://sabinoartglass.com/proddetail.asp?pid=232
Decelle lists this pattern as 'Service "Framboises"'. Your 12 cm coaster has the pattern no. 21.004.

Now that's interesting. I looked for the signature and found a number instead. It is very indistinct. I can make out a '2' at the beginning, but nothing more, though there is more. I presume it reads '21.004'.
