Hi
Can anyone help me with a problem with a glass stopper that has firmly stuck in the neck of the scent bottle. Any ideas on how to release it safely ?
::)
Thank you

Gentle tapping, just under the rim, preferrably on a bit of wood rather than metal.
Your kitchen counter would do, if it's not stone.
Try warming the outside (to get it to expand a little) without warming the inside.
(not so easy in practice)
A skoosh of WD40?
Try gentle twisting after the tapping, wearing a pair of rubber gloves for purchase.
Expletives are optional.
Actually, I'd probably just try getting it out with gentle twisting and pulling, wearing rubber gloves first.
Don't twist and push. It will only get more firmly stuck.

Stopper now released ;D
Thanks Chopin-Liszt for ideas

What did the trick?
The wooden spoon I forgot to mention for the gentle tapping?
8) Another trick for looking after PBs;-
If you've washed one and want to get it dry, put a rolled-up "wick" of kitchen roll into it and leave it to sit, preferrably safely propped upside down.
(I normally give a final rinse with a little distilled water, but I keep that in the house anyway, I have carniverous plants that need it.)
Any water inside that evapourates will go to the kitchen roll because it's absorbent.
A distilled water final rinse will get rid of any water that does contain anything to leave as a deposit.
Just tear the kitchen roll into a width that will go into the hole easily after rolling it up a bit. :)

A way to stop stoppers sticking. When all is ready just get a TINY amount of Vaseline and smear it over the stopper. It will always release but if it got sticky it would dissolve with something like nail polish remover.

Hi Sue
I put a small amount of fairy liquid on the rim and just held it in some warm water for a short while. It then released :)
Thank you Ross for your tip as well, I will remember these tips for the future.
