Title: Dating a Bimini button Made in England
Post by: MissBabs02 on November 27, 2018, 07:08:56 PM
Many years ago, I bought an old tin full of buttons from a charity shop in Sussex, and only recently did some research on the contents. Amongst many lovely buttons, I discovered a large black, 'knobbly' glass button with silver inset  and on the back brass shank is imprinted 'BIMINI LTD MADE IN ENGLAND' plus the flowerpot logo. The shank is a bit tarnished, i.e. has evident age.I am confused about dates though. Did Lampl change the name to Orplid before/after the Soho works were bombed and he was released from detention? Could anyone kindly clarify? I feel a hobbie coming on.
