Title: Old English (US?) dessert dishes
Post by: Ailurophile on December 03, 2018, 09:11:01 AM
I feel sure you have covered this before, so please do redirect me to the topic if you know it.  I don't have enough information to search.  The glass is thick, pressed & with a simple palmetto & star design.  All items have out-turned bowls.  I have never seen the glass with a tint & have only ever come across serving dishes of various capacities (1.25
pint upwards) & individual dishes with or without feet - see attached photos.   The footed bowls have a simpler basal star & perhaps they were intended for sugar. There is often the type of wear associated with long use.  I can't find it in any of my books & wonder if it was an early 20th c American import.  I shall be very grateful if you can shed light on its origin.
