Title: Brierley thistle vase with acid stamp
Post by: Anne on January 16, 2019, 10:58:44 PM
Adding this for reference, and would like an idea of an approx. date of production if possible. Height 6¾" tall, base diameter 3¾", top diameter 3¾".  Acid stamped on base Brierley.

Hmmm it's a puzzle isn't it? British Glass Between the Wars says in its marks section (page 109) that "in the 1960s the word 'Brierley' in various styles was used."

You know I've had that book for a few years now and not read that bit before, so probably 60s as it says, would still like to know what marks Brierley Crystal uses, maybe one day they'll answer me  ;D ;D

I would say it's Royal Brierley late 80's early 90's mark. I found a set of RB honeysuckle wine glasses with it on yesterday. That vase also comes in three sizes that I know of the biggest was about 10 inches tall. Big chunky pieces of glass. The Honeysuckle pattern started about 1987.
