Title: Another Chinese thing or something more exciting??
Post by: Ph on January 17, 2019, 04:08:07 PM
Another auction job lot item, any ideas please? It has a fair amount of a wear at base that is hard to photograph. Could it be Czech? Many thanks in advance, Petra 😁

Fratelli Toso from 1950s or 60s I expect, another example with a wider handle in exact same colour combination on page 181 of Leslie Pina's book on Fratelli Toso. Other examples are shown on the previous couple of pages with the thinner handle construction like yours.

Another example, this one is large and opalescent.

Great, nice to be the bearer of good news for a change!

I occasionally see baskets that are superficially similar but lack the size, complexity and quality of these FT designs, no idea where they are from though.
