Title: Milchglas decanter?
Post by: essi on January 27, 2019, 09:07:59 PM
Would value any input on this strange item of glass. It is 210mm tall and 80mm square .
It seems to have been made in a two part mould and no pontil on the base.
Any pointers to the age of this item would be great.
Thanks,
Tim

Thanks for that link to the bottle. How on earth did you come across that reference?.
Since seeing the bottle, I have not been able to find any other images.
That's answered my questions, but who out there has got a dice top for my bottle!.
Thanks again,
Tim

:) no, I've seen them before so I recognised it.

Apparently it seems to date to the 50s perhaps?
I don't know anything about Italian glass but wondering if it might have been made at one of the Italian plants or maybe Portugal?
But that's a complete guess on my part - it would just be my first point of searching if it were mine.  Good luck and please let us know if you discover anything.
