Title: Swedish Mod "Rocket Ship" Tumblers
Post by: horochar on August 14, 2006, 11:50:25 PM
I bought four of these heavy 3-legged glass tumblers.  I love the design, which I'm guessing is from 1960s-1980s.  Reminds me of a rocket ship.  My instincts tell me Scandinavian.  Can anybody help me out?
Thanks,
Clueless in Minnesota (Charles)

I had a Nybro (Sweden) candleholder that had a similar domed base with three legs  :-\ - just an idea anyway.

Orrefors is another pos.? the colour and technique is similar to some recent production bowls I've seen?

I thought that the 'rocket' glass looked like incalmo technique, so I was thinking Italian but the shape doesn't really say Italian to me...so perhaps more likely a good studio somewhere, perhaps USA?

Edited to add: I think they're gorgeous!  :)
