Not my main subject in glass but would like some information about this paperweight.
It is 3inches diameter and 2.5 inches high.
Is it possible to know which years this type of weight was produced?.
Is it a Michael Harris design?
Thanks,
Tim

The "Blob of glass in a flame" logo was used between ~ '72 and ~ '79.
It looks to be Aurene-ish colours used in this one.
Enough that I would possibly describe it as an Aurene weight, as opposed to one with just general coloured swirls inside.

Thanks for the swift reply Sue, and the dates. What does the term Aurene mean?

Exact dates for the use of the flame logo were not recorded, generally considered to have started in 1974 and ceased by 1980, there may be a few late exceptions on Tortoiseshell items. The studio did not open until 1973.
Aurene is the name given to a colourway (which had wide variations in the resulting colours).

I knew i should have looked the book up.
I don't know why I've got '72-'79 stuck, it's clearly wrong.

Thanks for the extra information John.
So much to look at in a small piece of glass.
Thanks again,
Tim
