Hello,
I have this vase, I find it hard to read the marking.
It says "4-9 K. something xs383"
I hope anyone knows what it says.
Maybe someone knows the maker and furnace?
Kind regards
Jonas

I'm afraid I don't know?,but it would be interesting to have a image of the base if you could please.
-
Hello,
It has an interesting base, it has a hole in the mittle.
My interest are Murano and Swedish glass and they don't have holes..:)

Or the Chinese !! ;D..I hope.Interesting, small studio piece perhaps?
-
Hello.
The quality of it is not Chinese.:)
It is very well made.

Ahhh but not all Chinese glass is of lesser quality Jonas. :) Take a peek at this example for starters.... https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,3385.0.html

The style of the glass reminds me of some Nuutajarvi work.
-
Thank you, I will look at that.
I know I have seen it before, if it is a Finnish signature they usually are all very hard to read...:)
-
It's the complex bubbly bits and internal work that remind me of Nuutajarvi.
I've been shown bits at fairs by a friend who is a serious Nuutajarvi collector.

Hello.
I think the signature says WMF glas Karl Wiedmann Geislingen.
👍😀
German vase
-
I think you're right. ;D
That would also explain the superior quality and those fabulous bubbles.
How thrilling to have a piece with his signature on - will you be checking records to be absolutely sure?
-
Hello,
I am sure it is his signature, now when I know what to look for.
If you search for "Signierte Gral-Glas Entwurf Karl Wiedmann"
Or. "Gral Glas Dürnau Corona Unikat Design Karl Wiedmann Signiert"
The vase is more likley from Gralglas.
I am searching..:)
-
:) I have an unsigned Wiedmann Gralglas ashtray.
-
Very nice too..:)
