Hello all, new to forum. Purchased this vase awhile back, and need help with ID. Measures 11 1/2" high and 4 1/2" in diameter. Thanks.

There is a possibility that this might be Royal Brierley, maybe cut by Charlie Swayne, there is a blue decanter in 20th Century British Glass that looks very similar, very nice ;D
-
Thank you. I will check out the piece you are speaking of an the artist. Have a grand day!!!

Hi Keith,
Was not able to find the piece you were speaking of. Could you send a pic?
-
Can't post pictures from books due to copyright but the book, "20th Century British Glass' by Charles Hajdamach is worth getting if you collect British glass, it's on page15. Your vase is very much like it, the colour and style match, I have a clear jug that may also be be the same cutter. Forgot to say welcome ;D ;D
-
Thanks. You taken the time to relay the information, is humanity at its finest. I will get the book.
-
it looks like it has been decorated with an interpretation of willow pattern (if you don't know this already) which might make searching easier
-
Thanks. I was not aware of the willow pattern. It has Japanese traditional houses on it and also a bridge with 3 soldiers with rifles raised. very detailed.
-
I think they are fishing, according to the story, you can find the pattern on almost any thing, this is a Chance glass plate with a Willow pattern design..... ;D ;D
-
You are correct. There is also a boat with fishermen. I looked more closely at figures on bridge and there are faint fishing lines. Keith on a post thinks it is a piece from "Royal Brierley, maybe cut by Charlie Swayne, there is a blue decanter in 20th Century British Glass." He also stated there was a similar piece on page 15 of the 20th Century British Glass' by Charles Hajdamach. I am going to check at library.
