Title: Opalescent glass figurine made in Czechoslovakia
Post by: Defender on February 28, 2019, 10:21:06 PM
I identified this figurine as a Sabino Suzanne however it has a paper "made in Czechoslovakia" sticker on the bottom.  Looks like a price written on it in pencil.  Is it a Sabino or not.  If not what?  Photos attached.  It's about 9 inches or 225 mm high.

I was wondering about Barolac too but couldn't find this in the catalogues I've looked at so far, but I'd think it was a strong possibility.

Incidentally there are at least three of these opalescent ladies, all slightly different: one is by Lalique, one by Sabino, and this one by a Czech maker.

thanks for the comments so far.  I should add that it originally had a small brass light fitting attached to its base with a hole for the cord.  I believe my great grandmother purchased it in the 1920s or 30s.

It would have made a lovely lamp! Thanks for adding the extra base photo too.
