Title: Probable mid 19th c. cut "ashburton" goblet.
Post by: cagney on March 03, 2019, 09:36:30 PM
Any thoughts on possible european attribution. U.K? France?

A prolific pattern [ ashburton ] in American pressed glass made through out the last half of the 19h c. Not uncommon in cut glass. Although the shape and treatment of the hexagonal bottom bowl I have not seen before. Most late 19th c. versions I've
seen have star cut foot bottom. Lead glass. Large polished pontil to inner edge of ground/polished foot ring.

Last photo is a mid 19th c. American cut version and the form almost always seen.
