Hi, I am new to this site after a recommendation. I have just bought my first collection of paperweights but know nothing about them, i.e the style design, makers, age description of the shapes within the glass etc so any information would be great

Hi. The great majority of these are modern Chinese, of minimal value. I can see a Mdina one (which is also a low end tourist trade piece). But if you like them, that is what matters!

Thanks for your message. Love the Mdina one as I live by the coast so ocean blue and sunshine yellow is perfect. I have joined another group for advice as well and they have identified a Cristal d' Arques Angelfish Paperweight 24% Lead Crystal France, one maybe 2 Caithness, but realise several Chinese but just love them. Am taking better pictures and starting to display them around my property to enjoy them while I research them further.

:) Hi and welcome! It sounds like you're a real glass lover. ;D
I hope you stick around, join in and get to learn more.
Glass is always a journey of learning, for all of us.
Please, be careful where you put your paperweights though. If you put them on windowsills that get bright sunshine, the clear domes can magnify the rays and set fire to things.
And it's awfully tempting to put them in bright sunshine, because you get so much more out of them when they're well lit. ;D
