This one surfaced in Montreal many years ago. Someone suggested Barbini at the time - but no-one had heard of Chalet then.

Hi Ivo,
It doesn't scream either Chalet or Murano glass to me. Of the two, I'd go with Murano, but I've not seen anything like it by Barbini. Are you sure it's not Scandinavian?

I am not sure of anything any more, Laura. But the weight, bottom finish and the frivolous uselessness of the object suggest Murano not Sweden. :D

The Italians did so much that it's hard to rule anyting out. I agree with you about the shape, and the spots. I just don't see that much in the way of clear glass from the Italians.
It could also be Bohemian or Polish. Another mystery!

The way the handle is attached doesnt seem that Italian to me...
Even with attached pieces, like handles, there's always a smooth flow to the pieces. Im not sold on Italian yet... The random spots on the glass, I can see that in Murano pieces. Just not sure Ivo.

Any chance this is Tiffin "Free form?" Given the general shape, it would have been my first guess.

My first thought was Blenko when I saw the shape. It looks like a Blenko sheared rim pitcher. But the shape and handle attachment appear to be slightly different. I also have not been able to find the red dots on clearn being made by Blenko.
Where is Cathy G when we need her
