Title: Murano Identification please
Post by: goizil1 on April 25, 2019, 08:32:44 PM
These glasses appear to be of the Murano Venetian kind.  The knops contain gold leaf and the metal has a bell-like ring to it.  There appear to be some black seeds in the glass, suggesting age older than the last 50 years, but I am not sure.  I have seen glasses similar to this said to be by Salviati but I don't know if other makers produced glasses like this.

Each glass is approximately 4.4 inches (11.2 cms) tall.

If anyone can provide more positive identification, that would be great.

Hi, I have a filigrana glass like yours and I've seen similar glasses attributed to Salviati too but a number of other factories make these so not sure if the attribution is correct. To be honest I have given up trying to find a maker and I assume it was made mid to late 20th century as mine has no wear. Sorry I can't be of anymore help.
