Thought Empoli when I bought this but no luck so far identifying it. It is 22cm tall with a satin finish and those almost ghostly vertical stripes, keep thinking I am missing something obvious!
Any ideas?

Is it satin or gloss finish?....sorry just re read the OP

Could it be salviati?

Carlo Moretti

It does not feel right for Salviati, if that makes any sense. Moretti was a possibility I did try and look into but could find nothing else with those stripes - they are quite deliberate, I think blown into a series of moulds to create the effect.

:) Looking at the rim, where there are angles in the white, but not the blue, it appears to be that the white layer was moulded, then encased in blue?
I sometimes start pondering Japan as an origin for white-lined, retro-style pieces I can't attribute elsewhere.

My guess is the first mould is used on both gathers, first into a dip mould, something along these lines:

then blown into a second larger mould to give the finished shape. Where the stripes are on my vase is where the blue ends up being a bit thinner.

:) Much more logical, thanks! :-[
