Title: Turquoise Glass Bowl signed (maybe?) Karl Nila?
Post by: postmoderniste on June 14, 2019, 12:58:34 AM
Hi all,

Wondering about possible ID for a glass bowl with flat cut edges with a sort of unintelligible signature on the foot. To me, it looks like it says "76" and "Karl" but the other letters are illegible. Maybe last name Nida or Nila. Maybe that will ring a bell for someone here with more knowledge.  Photos attached.  Thanks!

Here is a Google Drive link to more and better photos - the resizing has rendered these pretty hard to see. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1g6oiT6CtrVr5ZDAEfAQH6Fe6V0vNFBFS?usp=sharing (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1g6oiT6CtrVr5ZDAEfAQH6Fe6V0vNFBFS?usp=sharing)

Looks like it reads 'Karhula' (Finnish glassworks) to me.

Got it in one! It's this set, by Goran Hongell.  Thanks for the speedy assistance! http://myartguides.com/exhibitions/glass-from-finland-in-the-bischofberger-collection/attachment/hongell-2/ (http://myartguides.com/exhibitions/glass-from-finland-in-the-bischofberger-collection/attachment/hongell-2/)
