Title: Miniature Mdina squat vase
Post by: Anne E.B. on June 16, 2019, 03:35:06 PM
For show - my miniature Mdina squat vase shown with two larger ones.  Its only 1.75" high.  Can't help thinking if I get another miniature one they will all look like the Twirlywoos (CBeebies for the uninitiated) :)

Is the very little stripey one marked? Phoenician made these too. The Phoenician ones tend to have neater stripes which often include ochre surrounded bubbles in them.
Mdina ones don't tend to include the lovely bubbles.

It is marked.  It has a flourish to the letter M which matches my Mdina perfume bottle.
I've taken an image of the other side.  The stripes get messier as it goes round.

 :) The "Molina" one.
Thanks!
I think when Phoenician was first set up, they made very Mdina-like stuff for a short while before going on to develop their own style and designs. These tiny posys are probably from around that period - mid-'80s.
