Title: Mystery Signed Art Glass Vase - ID = Will Shakspeare
Post by: billben on June 21, 2019, 07:01:11 PM
Hi Folks.. hope none of you are flooded out.
Well Ive searched all my resources and got no-where with this.   Lovely blown glass vase with a ground flat base. 6" tall. The oil on water effect on the outside is actually textured and you can feel it, also slighty irredescent.    The etched signature is clearer to the naked eye than shown on the photos & I was confident it said 'Spake' .. so much so I contacted a studio glass blower with the same name but sadly not his signature.  It may well be it doesnt say Spake, as we all know these vibro pen signatures are prone to a number of factors.  The first letter I would say is a Capital S the second letter either an 'h' or possibly a fancy 'p' third letter looks like an 'a' but coudl be an 'o' the fourth looks like a 'k' but coudl be a 't' or a slipped 'l' the last letter could be 'e' 's' or just a slip.   Hopefully that hasnt confused you all even more.   Im hoping someone recognises it more for the glass than the signature.
Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated

Think this one reads 'Shaks' which is how Will Shakspeare signs his work. Second piece by him on the GMB today!
