Have a 5 inch version which I probably posted here years ago, this one is 16 inches tall with a moulded base and considerable wear, Stuart green in colour could it be one of theirs ? ::) ;D ;D
-
I've not seen anything like that before!
Is it cut or moulded? (it looks awfully clean for moulded)
It would make a good centrepiece for a Chance Britannia bowl, but you might have to use a contrasting colour. :)
-
Could we have a picture of the base please?
-
Sure it's moulded, blown into a mould I presume, bit big for a Brit' bowl but I have a clear, blue, white and one with chrome 'arms' I'll have to see if it fits ;D will photo the bottom tomorrow ;D ;D
-
Very 'soft' to touch so moulded, here's the base ;D
-
you did. I can't remember whether I eventually found a Stevens and Williams squat flared bowl with wavy rim in the same colour and ribs count. I think I did. It might be worth checking out S&W if the green is the right green.
-
ah was thinking of this one I think.
Is it the same ribs? dinner on - no time to check

There's an id there I'm not overly happy with, m. ??? Two bamboo shaped yellow/brown vases.
It calls what I believe to be a silver salt surface decorated work by Hortensja, "Mimosa" by Tadeusz Wrzesniak, for Huta Szklá Goszpodarczego.
So I tried searching for that, to see if the right things came up, and the only thing that did was get me back there.
I do have a goblet with it's Hortensja label on. It's in the blue decor rather than the browny/yellowy ambers, but it's the same range, which was expensive to produce and only made to order.
Maddeningly, I cannot remember where I learned about it only being made to order and can't provide a proper reference.
-
Sue, I can't help with that I'm sorry. I will try and have a search later to see if there is any more info out there though.
Keith, I'm a bit hmmm about that base - no pontil mark at all? Is that normal for Stuart?
Also, I'm rushing here but I think the one I linked to S&W has 1 fewer ribs doesn't it? Might be why I've not mentioned it before.

Do not fret, M. :-*
We can take it up somewhere else later on in its own thread if you like.
I've been dealing with finding bits of Hortensja from my very early days and it aroused a bit of interest. I'm a bit possessive and obssessive about it. ;D
This is off-topic, sorry. :-[
-
Thanks m, the S&W's colour is a bit darker with 3 ribs mine has 5, the Stuart pieces I have come with polished pontil marks so I'll ask around ::) ;D ;D
-
I'm bemused about the lack of pontil mark if I'm honest Kev [ * ]. I'd have thought both S&W and Stuart would have a pontil mark.
So perhaps neither option are right for this vase?
m
[ * ]Mod: I have removed the post to which M was referring. The vases I have are not what I suggested they were! I am now embarrassed rather bemused. :-[ :-[
