Title: A 1840 ish Baccarat St Louis urn or Boston Sandwich Cobalt Blue celery
Post by: thewingedsphinx on July 05, 2019, 03:42:49 PM
I would be very grateful for any pointers on this great vase. I can’t find anything like it. The colour just said by me.
The only similar items I can find are a Baccarat vase in the Corning museum of glass gallery different shape but similar scrolling pattern or I googled Cobalt blue Celery and found a Bellflower Boston sandwich Celery from 1840.
The scrolling pattern really stands out and another unusual thing is that the pattern is also on the base. 7 inches tall.no makers mark. Cheers Mike

It would be immensely helpful if your photos were loaded to 640 pixels. They would then enlarge enough to see the details :)

Is it possible to make them larger please?

Many thanks

I do apologise for my photos, if I actually manage to load one in the correct orientation I take it as a success. My super whizzy phone that does everything but can’t reduce the pixel size. I don’t use a computer. It’s a constant pain in the proverbial. Sorry. It could also be user error and lack of technical know how.

French urn rather than a eapg Celery????

I'm not tech savvy either. It's a pain  :-[
However, it means it's impossible to see the more intricate design part on the side of the piece ( I think my glasses are good to go but I still can't see the detail  :)  ).
