Post by: hashingbaby on July 11, 2019, 09:58:39 AM
Can anyone ID this Crescent shaped pressed glass Posy Trough. It has three feet and is approx 18 cm (7 in) long, 7 cm (3 in) wide and is 5 cm (2 in) high. Any info greatly appreciated. Or point me in the right direction. Thanks so much.

In the same vein as Edward Bolton RD 25159 (registered 29 April 1871) but differs in detail as to arrangement of ribs on the sides and pattern to base.

Could possibly be Edward Moore's pattern no. 974 (an unregistered design shown in the Pottery Gazette 1 December 1888). The Edward Moore designs were almost certainly from old moulds bought from the Joseph Webb (later Jane Webb & Joseph Hammond...) factory in Stourbridge in 1888.

The Edward Moore pressings apparently did not carry the Webb lozenge marks relating to their original registration in the early 1870s.
