Title: Manchester blues...... A Derbyshire vase?
Post by: thewingedsphinx on July 14, 2019, 08:22:16 PM
A rare vase that has similarities with some Manchester pieces from the 1880s. Blue is quite a rare colour I understand for the Manchester manufacturers but John Derbyshire did make opaque blue items so I think this is A Derbyshire piece. I’ve been advised that these come in different colours, has anyone Ames got any? Thanks, it’s currently on eBay

It's so close in style to a Ker & Webb piece, tempting to give a firm attribution to them

Hi Neil,
One of the specific pressed glass dealers from the National glass fair says has these in different colours and none are marked, but always thought they are Derbyshire, the other specific pressed glass dealer ( there’s only two ) said Edward Moore or Davidson but I think it’s a Manchester piece.
Thanks Mike
