Title: Believed to be vintage Czech glass - ID = ZBS
Post by: bohemianczechglass on July 23, 2019, 10:49:14 AM
I would be very grateful for help to identify the designer and who produced the attached small vase.

I bought it as part of a bulk lot and this was the only interesting piece.

It is Alexandrite glass with a cut top, and heavy but not very big - 12.5 cm tall, 11.5 x 6 cm top, 7 x 4 cm base.

The seller assured me all the pieces were Czech but .......

Thank you.

It's a nice piece. I wonder if it's ZBS? https://www.20thcenturyglass.com/glass_encyclopedia/bohemian_glass/zeleznybrodglass_home.htm

Anne

Thank you for your reply.

I too had thought ZBS but then I thought no, not with a cut top, but your reply prompted me to search ZBS further and I have found it.

It was designed by Antonin Drobnik for ZBS, before 1962. The design was well thought of and appeared in the GlassRevue in 1962.

How wonderful.

Thank you.

Glad you have found it. :)  I'll move this to the Czech forum for you now.
